Here & There Updates

Here & There

Having enjoyed a great time at the couple’s retreat, Glenda and I returned to Putnamville to begin a revival with these sweet folks. It is always a treat to be with Pastor Rick Brown and the Putnamville Baptist Church family. It was a blessing to have several of the local pastors and some of their people join us in the services; “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1). On Thursday, we headed to the house to catch-up on several odd jobs around the house and some much needed rest. The week proved to be more work than rest! On Saturday we once again headed back to the flat lands of Indiana, to be with Andrew Comley and the folks at Paragon Bible Baptist Church located just outside Martinsville, Indiana. This is the second time that we have had the opportunity to be with him and his precious folks. We had a great time and are booked to be back next year. When we left there, it was in high gear. Because of the weather forecast at home, I knew I would have very little time to get all the yard work done before the rain set in. We hit the road at 7:00 am on Thursday morning; got to the house about 2:00 in the afternoon. Unpacked, started a load of laundry, and fired up the lawn mower. After going through several tanks of gas, I finished up at 9:45. Near the end, I just mowed anything that was darker than the rest. I’m afraid to see what it looks like in the daylight! On Saturday we rolled out for “Almost Heaven.” It was time to be with Brother Robert Watkins and the Sam’s Creek Church family. It was Brother Watkins that introduced me to most of the churches that I preach for around the Parkersburg, West Virginia area. We meet at a camp meeting almost thirty years ago and have been special friends every since. While there we stay with John and Cathy Watkins, Bob’s son and daughter-in-law. They have become as close and as dear as family! We are off to a good meeting with eight different churches being represented in the services last night. We praise the Lord for the great honor He has given to us to serve Him. Please pray for our safety on the road, as well as, the Lord’s blessing on each of the services.
