Judgment For All Men

II Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”

I Corinthians 3:10-15 “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

Text Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

The mentality of this present world is, “Live like there is no tomorrow!” The only problem with that mentality is twofold; first, there is a tomorrow and secondly, there is a judgment that awaits all men in that day! The creature, which is a bible term for mankind in general, will be judged in respect to their conversion; have they been born again “by grace . . . through faith; and that not of yourselves . . . Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). There is but one area of consideration, do you have a personal relationship with Christ? “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36 This judgment will determine one’s residency; heaven or hell! The Christian will then be judged on conduct, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad” (II Corinthians 5:10) and content, “Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is” (I Corinthians 3:13). This judgment will determine one’s rewards. While the blood of Christ has covered our sin, we must yet give an account of our stewardship! One might think that it is only the world that says, “take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry” (Luke 12:19); truth is, the world’s mentality has been adopted by some of God’s children, are you one?
